Meet our General Contractor.

Hi, I’m Dave Shuey. Lead carpenter and general contractor for Bedrock Carpentry.

I have a passion for being outside, working with my hands, and living within an environment that encourages an active lifestyle. My family and I have been lucky enough to call the Methow Valley our home since 2020, and I’m proud to contribute to our tight-knit community by building and remodeling our neighbor’s homes.

I don’t know if it was the hundreds of hours of playing with legos growing up or the witnessing of remodel projects on my childhood home that first piqued my interest in construction, but I’m glad it has culminated in this way. Working as a carpenter and licensed general contractor carries a great level of satisfaction with each completed project, big or small.

Although my education is in civil engineering, I have much preferred physically working on job sites than being stuck behind the computer. Yet, an engineering mindset provides a solid foundation for critical thinking, attention to detail, and contributes to a deeper understanding of construction physics. I have a “quality first” philosophy on all our projects and hold my employees and sub-contractors to this high standard.

When I’m not pounding nails or adventuring with my family, I also spend my winters working as a professional ski mountaineering guide and avalanche educator in Washington’s North Cascades mountains.
